We love connecting with people in our community, especially when it comes to keeping their feet healthy. We’ve been a part of the Our Hearts To Your Soles event for nearly a decade, and while we plan on continuing that tradition as long as possible, we’re excited to announce another philanthropic partnership. Dr. Silverman will be volunteering this weekend at Special Olympics Minnesota!
Special Olympics Minnesota was founded on the belief that people with intellectual disabilities can, with proper instruction and encouragement, learn, enjoy and benefit from participation in individual and team sports, adapted as necessary to meet the needs of those with intellectual and physical disabilities. And no matter the level of competition, injuries are always a possibility when athletes are pushing their bodies to their physical limits. In an effort to help prevent injuries and teach athletes about proper ways to protect their feet and ankles, Dr. Silverman will be working with the Feet Fit Program from 9 a.m until 1 p.m. on Saturday during the games.
The Feet Fit Program teaches athletes a variety of things about keeping their feet healthy before during and after athletic activities. The program will cover a range of topics and care clinics, from proper stretching techniques to foot exams for the athletes.

I cannot wait to help out with the wonderful program that is Special Olympics Minnesota. Working with athletes is always a rewarding experience because it is a coordinated effort between physician and competitor to ensure the athlete is fully prepared to be the best that they can be. I can’t wait to do my part and help these athlete’s achieve their goals. I’ll share my experiences from the event sometime next week on the blog.
