We’re always looking for ways to give back to our community, which is why we’ve loved providing the financial backing for the annual Our Hearts To Your Soles event in the Twin Cities. Another event that we’ve connected with in the past and are looking forward to again this year is The Sanneh Foundation’s Gala For Goals. We’re supporting the foundation this year, and we hope you’ll consider supporting it as well. We’ll explain their purpose and what they strive for in today’s blog.
Gala For Goals
The Sanneh Foundation is is a group that works to help young people right here in our own backyard. According to their mission:
The Sanneh Foundation serves the holistic youth development needs of the increasingly diverse Twin Cities metro area. Our mission is to empower youth by supporting and promoting educational attainment through in-school and after-school support, improve lives by providing programs that strengthen physical health and social and emotional development, and unite communities by advancing diversity, equity, and community well-being.
The Sanneh Foundation works to ensure that local children know where their food is coming from every day and that they have access to educational opportunities in the face of financial hardship. And while grants and emergency response programs can help provide some funding, in order to continue serving daily meals and providing distance learning opportunities for children affected by the pandemic, they need to crowd source from the community. That’s where the Gala for Goals comes in.
The Gala for Goals is typically an in-person gala to celebrate the community and help raise funds for their efforts, but as you might imagine, it will look a little different in the era of COVID. This year’s event will be held virtually, but you can still donate and attend the virtual gala.
This year’s event is scheduled for this Saturday, February 20. For those who wish to attend as a VIP member, the pre-event activities begin online at 6:00 p.m. The gala stream will begin at 7:00 p.m.
The goal of the gala is to raise more than $350,000 to help fund their mission here in the Twin Cities. Silverman Ankle & Foot is attending as a bronze package sponsor, and we hope others will consider attending or donating to this worthy cause as well.
